What is a Chick-fil-A conservative (A Captain Moroni conservative)?

Thanks to the Left, I have discovered Chick-fil-A. I had never eaten at a Chick-fil-A before, but had to, once they became a target of the Left.

Which got me to reflecting – your attitude toward Chick-fil-A is a good barometer of whether or not you are a “Captain Moroni” conservative, an unenthusiastic but genuine conservative, a moderate, or an out-and-out Leftist. Here are the possible reactions and what I would say they mean:

1. Knowing that Chick-fil-A is a target of the Left, you are all the more likely to go there. This is what I would call the “Captain Moroni” conservative – the person who wants to take it directly to the enemy. Resist. Stand up and fight. Tear off your coat, write on it, and wave it on a pole.

2. Or, you could just continue your fast food patterns as they have been. You will not be dissuaded from going to Chick-fil-A because they are a target of the left, but you won’t go there any more often either. So you’re a loyal conservative, but not a fighter – what I would call the unenthusiastic conservative with a moderate amount of courage.

3. If the fuss that has been made makes you feel like shying away from Chick-fil-A, then this is what I would call the classic moderate response. You don’t want to be disliked or to risk stirring anything up. There are plenty of other places to eat, why cause trouble? This is the moderate response, the person who looks around to see what everyone else is saying and gauges his or her response based on how it appears to others.

4. And fourth, of course, is the response of the Leftist activist who will not only refuse to go to Chick-fil-A, but will try to intimidate those who do go.
