{"id":624,"date":"2011-03-04T13:52:18","date_gmt":"2011-03-04T20:52:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.libertymusings.com\/blog\/?p=624"},"modified":"2011-03-04T14:19:39","modified_gmt":"2011-03-04T21:19:39","slug":"the-supreme-court-didnt-answer-the-key-question-about-funeral-protests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.libertymusings.com\/blog\/the-supreme-court-didnt-answer-the-key-question-about-funeral-protests\/","title":{"rendered":"The Supreme Court didn&#8217;t answer the key question about funeral protests"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wednesday, the Supreme Court announced its 8-1 decision upholding the rights of the Westboro Baptist Church to stage protests at military funerals.<\/p>\n<p>I have heard lots of commentary on this decision, but people are glossing over what we learned last year is the key point about any free speech issues, and that is whether or not the Westboro Baptist Church is incorporated.<\/p>\n<p>We learned last year, in the Citizens United Case, that when people are organized as corporations, the Left doesn&#8217;t think they have any free speech rights.
