Lisa Murkowski concedes

In what I think is the best news of the week so far, Senator Lisa Murkowski conceded today to her primary challenger, Joe Miller.

I heard Joe Miller last week being interviewed by Mark Levin and was impressed. And I’m fired up over all the liberal Republicans who have been defeated by conservatives this year in primaries.

And may I add that I am disgusted with the National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee and their string of liberals that they have endorsed. Lisa Murkowski is the most recent of liberals they have endorsed who have been turned away by the rank and file. They endorsed Arlen Specter and Charlie Crist, who, with the benefit of hindsight, are clearly Democrats in sheep’s clothing. They endorsed Mark Kirk in Illinois and Mike Castle, who are not-so-clearly Democrats in sheep’s clothing. And they endorsed others who are too liberal for their constituencies, including incumbents Bob Bennett of Utah, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, and other liberal challengers. I am not aware of one conservative that they endorsed over a liberal opponent.

It’s time for new leadership for the Republicans in the Senate.
