Comment on Immigration Protests

I noted an article from Friday’s Tucson Citizen, Hundreds Protest New Arizona Immigration Law.

Take note all you conservatives. This law is really making the pro-amnesty crowd mad. You know you’re striking a serious blow when you get this kind of absolutely irrational reaction. After all, the law isn’t going into effect. But they’re scared that in the end it will.

The ruling, by the way, is weak. I listened to Mark Levin’s radio show after the ruling, as he almost effortlessly poked holes in it. A key part of Judge Bolton’s ruling was that the law would place undue burdens on Federal law enforcement. However, there is nothing in the law that even requires Federal immigration officials to even answer the phone when Arizona calls. She said that the law also places an undue burden on the illegals to require them to carry their papers, but Arizona is only asking them to do the same thing that the Federal law requires. She ignored established precedent that says that as long as a state law is in harmony with the clear intent of Congress in passing the Federal law in question, that there is no conflict. And SB 1070 does nothing more than re-state Federal requirements of foreign nationals who are in this country.

Arizona State Senator Russell Pearce, and all the others of you who crafted and passed this law, you were brilliant. I just love it when people devise ways to cut through all the hypocrisy and expose others’ true motives. Obama, the Mexican government, and the agitators simply do not want Federal law enforced. That is now perfectly clear.

Oh, and another little tidbit from Judge Bolton’s ruling. She says in the ruling that states that allow sanctuary cities are in contravention of federal requirements. At least she got that part right. Now let’s see Eric Holder go after them. Ha! You and I know it will never happen.
