The news from yesterday and this morning makes it clear that Pastor Jones’ Quran burning was directly tied to the Ground Zero Islamic Battle Monument. And now in this morning’s news we have more incidents cropping up. I told you we’d see more of this if the Ground Zero project were to move forward. In Wyoming, Duncan Philip says he’s going to burn the Quran on the Capitol steps in Cheyenne as a protest (see Wyoming News), and in Kansas, a Baptist church says they will burn the Quran if Jones doesn’t.
The problem is that we have certain elites in this country that selectively approve or condemn people who are provoking things. Islamists who provoke are approved, while anti-Islamists who provoke are condemned. They are trying to achieve peace by getting the provokers on one side to back down, which only makes things worse. All the provokers should be condemned.
Oh, and I have decided not to call the Ground Zero Islamic Battle Monument a mosque. Mosques are places of worship. It is clear that this Imam views this building as a battle monument. I believe in calling things what they really are, not what some people pretend they are.
