My stepson is a prosecutor in the Maricopa County Attorney’s office. I was leaning toward Bill Montgomery for County Attorney, because he is being supported by Tea Party people, of which I am one. But my stepson, who is also a Tea Party type, has been emphatic in urging me to vote for Rick Romley.
Romley isn’t as conservative as Montgomery, but my stepson assures me that he will enforce the law. Romley has misgivings about SB 1070, which has bothered me, but my stepson says he will enforce it with integrity, and won’t seek to undermine it. His concern about Bill Montgomery is that he is a poor administrator who simply isn’t suited to the role of County Attorney.
I trust his judgment and I think I’m buying his argument. Romley has my vote.
