Dr. Benjamin Carson reveals intolerance of Left

I listened to Dr. Benjamin Carson’s interview on the Mark Levin show Monday night. I love honesty and that’s why I loved this interview. I love it when the hypocrites, the phonies, the pretenders, are exposed. And there was a whole list of them exposed during and after that interview.

The first thing to be exposed was the racism of the American Left. Mark Levin opened the subject by asking him this: “You’re attacked also in many respects because of your race, because you’re not supposed to think like this and talk like this. A lot of white liberals just don’t like it, do they?”

Dr. Carson, who is African American, didn’t hesitate in his response. “They’re the most racist people there are because, you know, they put you in a little category, a little box. You have to think this way. How could you dare come off the plantation?”

And then when he stands up for traditional marriage, in the eyes of some that disqualifies him from being the commencement speaker at Johns Hopkins University. Yes, this is what the gay rights movement has become and why they want to change the definition of marriage. It’s because they want you declared a bigot if you believe in traditional marriage and they want to shut you up.

I heard Mark Levin when he talked last week about wanting to talk to Dr. Carson. He worried that he was unprepared for the hostility he would encounter. But Dr. Carson demonstrated by what he said that he was not unprepared in the least for the vicious response he got. He went on to say further that he will not be intimidated.

“Do these attacks make you want to speak out more and do more? Or do they cause you to second guess coming out and talking like this?”

Again, there was not a moment’s hesitation in Dr. Carson’s answer, as he began to speak almost before Mark finished the question. “No, they make me recognize what serious trouble we’re in. And what has really brought it home to me is, you know,  I’ve gotten so many letters of support or phone calls or e-mails from people who believe similarly but are afraid to speak out because they think there may be retribution.” Later he added: “They want to shut us up completely. And that’s why the attacks against me have been so vicious because I represent, you know, an existential threat to them.”

And then I loved hearing about Dana Perino’s response the next day on The Five on Fox News. Mark Levin mentioned this the next day, and I looked up the reporting on her comments on The Right Scoop. Here’s what they said about it:

“Dana Perino found Carson’s comments to be over the top and not helpful ‘to the discussion’. But [she] went a step further and blamed Mark Levin and others for not having Carson’s best interests in mind. Dana criticized Levin (and others) of ‘burning Carson up’ by interviewing him all the time and not giving him a chance to breathe, and taking him down roads that will not help him.”

So yes, I love it when pretenders are exposed. The Left is not tolerant in the least, though they portray themselves as the most tolerant. And the “country club Republicans” like Dana Perino, as Mark Levin called them in his response, are part of the problem. The fire of liberty does not burn in their bosom, and they resist those of us who do have that fire.
