Obama preying on gullibility again

On Monday night, Mark Levin pointed out something interesting about Obama’s Friday campaign speech in Poland, Ohio. Here’s what Obama said:

“For those of you who already have health insurance, the only thing this does is make your health insurance more secure, because it means insurance companies can’t impose lifetime limits or use fine print, so when you really need it, suddenly the insurance isn’t there.”

Oh, yes, Utopia is so wonderful, when the government is there to help us at every turn. They have replaced 5 pages of fine print in an insurance contract with a 2700-page health care law that the President himself hasn’t read, and 16,000 new pages of regulations (and counting) so far.

I will tell you that I have had many dealings with my insurance companies in my over six decades of life, and I have never felt screwed by fine print. Never. I have had questions about my coverage, but I could always call a representative or company headquarters and get a straightforward answer. But I had nightmarish experiences as a dentist dealing with Medicaid coverage for my patients. Instead of a five-page booklet we had a loose-leaf manual that I remember as being maybe 300 pages, and the rules were always changing. But the worst part of it was that when they denied a claim we just had to write it off – there was no appeal, no recourse.

You see, selling statism isn’t a matter of reason and understanding, it’s emotion. And the emotions used to sell it are envy and fear, stirred up by distortions and outright lies.
