Rush and Glenn Beck – high praise for Michele Bachmann

Rush, on his Wednesday show, had glowing comments about Michele Bachmann. Here’s what he said:

“I’ll tell you who else – they all did very well last night. Everybody on that panel did well last night. It’s tough to single any of them out over another, but I have to tell you, I do want to single out Michele Bachmann for a couple of reasons. In the first place she was excellent last night, and she has been said to have fallen out of the top tier. You know, she won the Iowa straw poll, and the next thing that happened was she went overboard on Rick Perry on the vaccine business down in Texas. Then she quoted somebody in the audience at one of the debates as an expert, and that began a bit of a downward slide. But I don’t think that was justified. I think she’s top drawer.

“I don’t have any doubt that Michele Bachmann would fight for this country every second she is awake were she to be elected president of the United States. I have no doubt whatsoever she would fight for the traditions and institutions that have defined this country’s greatness. I thought she was superb last night — and I want to mention something else…” And then Rush went on to discuss how The Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon totally insulted her. Anyway, that’s as high praise as I have heard Rush give for any candidate this election cycle. And for me, it’s dittos – I love your comments, Rush. Except I would make one correction. Michele Bachmann’s numbers fell the moment Rick Perry entered the race, over the excitement that move made. And he timed his entry the day after her impressive victory in the Iowa Straw Poll. In the debate, she was trying to get back to where she was, and that point over Perry’s vaccination program did seem to help her some, but then she overplayed it and it went flat.

And she has an informal endorsement from popular radio talk show host Glenn Beck. He also had the highest praise for Michele Bachmann on his Tuesday show. He said: “There is somebody I think that is exceptional and truly comes the closest to embodying the spirit of Lincoln or Washington in this field. And I believe that it is Michele Bachmann.

“We have to trust somebody. That’s not to say that there aren’t good candidates elsewhere. The others, many of them are good, decent men. But this woman is exceptional and I would ask that you would take a look at the character and the true life of Michele Bachmann. I believe she means what she says and says what she means.” He went on to say that he doesn’t formally endorse candidates, but he did say that he would vote for her in the primary.
