Bias doesn’t even begin to describe this. It’s abject corruption of the media.

I watch how the establishment media treat this unfolding of the story of the meltdown of U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East, and I remain in a state of shock. I have wanted to write about this for days, but I fear that words will fail me.

I view the Clinton era as the time when the Democratic Party sold its soul. He had committed perjury and obstruction of justice, crimes for which he was disbarred, and yet office-holding Democrats, with precious few exceptions, stood by him to defend him. And I believe I will view the Obama era, and specifically this Jihadist uprising of September 2012, combined with Iran continuing to pursue nuclear weapons, as the point where the establishment media sold its soul.

The intelligence and law enforcement communities came under attack prior to September 11, 2001, for not connecting the dots, connections which could have prevented or intercepted the attacks of that day. Well here we have the administration, with the complicity, even the encouragement, of the media now actually erasing the dots.

It is so sad when I see journalists I once respected, like commentator Juan Williams, trying to defend our absent president who can’t find the time for a personal meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, parroting the official excuse that “we have telephones, don’t we?” Really? Since the invention of the telephone, face-to-face meetings are now obsolete? Have you lost the capacity for independent thought, Mr. Williams? And all the rest of you who are falling in line behind this pied piper, have you also? And has Obama so intimidated his staff that no one of them has the guts to stand up to him and say how bad this looks? We are facing the possibility of a nuclear Iran, and instead of meeting with world leaders, he goes on The View?

And in the scrambling to make the President look as good as possible, James Clapper, the Director of National Intelligence, puts out a pathetic story trying to claim that his office botched the intelligence, and this is why the administration’s story has sounded so confusing. And USA Today, as well as other establishment media outlets, have little curiosity about the apparent ridiculousness of the claim.

Jonah Goldberg, on the Special Report panel on Fox News last night finally labeled what he calls the mainstream media as corrupt. I applaud him for that. The wimpy critics call it biased. But biased doesn’t even begin to come close to describing it. It is corrupt. Abjectly corrupt.

It was enlightening when Kirsten Powers, several days ago on that same Special Report panel when they were discussing the Muslim uprisings, distanced herself from the administration version of events and the media coverage. She has been a reliable apologist for the Obama administration, but she had enough self-respect to not want to bathe herself in the grime of this scandal.

This is incipient totalitarianism, and they are all just playing along. The administration intimidates the coal companies into putting off their layoffs until after the election. The administration intimidates the Gallup organization, and, by extension, all the polling organizations, that the numbers had better look good for the president. Story after story that seeps through the alternative media of intimidation, voter fraud, cover-up, and manipulation. And they all just play along.

It’s sick. It’s sad. It’s scary. I scarcely know what to say.
