Lindsey Graham a Target for 2014

I watched Lindsey Graham’s interview with Greta Van Susteren on Fox last night. I was surprised to see him come out in favor of repealing Obamacare. Repeal it, he said, and replace it with better health care reform legislation.

It’s a good sign. It means he’s reading the public mood and realizes he better be conservative for now. But I still don’t trust him. I’ve watched Lindsey Graham long enough to know he’s no conservative. It seems that he’s saying this because he reads the public mood and he wants to keep his seat.

If I were in South Carolina, I would be unmoved and would be listening for a strong conservative who could run against him in the primary when he comes up for re-election in 2014.

I’m frustrated with “conservatives” who fall for these politicians who clearly have liberal instincts. They often try to spin their lack of convictions into a badge of honor (I vote what I think – I don’t toe the party line – I’m independent. But really these people like John McCain and Lindsey Graham are much fonder of the appearance of honor than honor itself.) You can call him moderate if you want, but his instincts are liberal. Graham and McCain, being from conservative states, seem to be as liberal as they think they can get away with, then they turn more conservative as they approach an election. They’ll betray conservatives at their most vulnerable moments and form gangs of 14 and do other things that wreak havoc with the conservative agenda. Nationally, my opinion is that it should be our highest priority to get rid of them. In a state like South Carolina, we can do much better than Senator Graham.

Nice article. I agree wholeheartedly. I say throw the bums out in 2014 if they don’t do the people’s work.

I agree!!!! Lindsey needs to be removed from office. He a wolf in sheep’s clothing.. He is for cap and tax which will affect EVERYONE…..

  3. Rest assured, no matter how much conservative posturing Lindsey Graham may attempt between now and 2014, the voters of South Carolina will not forget that he has supported the nationalization of banks, the fingerprinting of all Americans, national ID cards, amnesty for illegal aliens, and the confirmation of two radical appointees to the U.S. Supreme Court, among other outrages. He is a radical and rogue Senator who has betrayed the voters of South Carolina. http://www.sunlituplands.org/2010/03/lindsey-grahams-advocacy-of-national-id.html

Well said! I couldn’t agree more.

Tim Scott & Nikki Haley, assuming their votes and actions between now and 2014 show that they are TRUE constitutional conservatives, will be ideally positioned to challenge wobbly Lindsey Graham in his next primary. Believe me, either of them would have a cake walk defeating him and going on to win the general election. Again, this will depend upon the character they show for the next 3 1/2 years. Of course should he be defeated in the primary, there would be a good chance Lindsey would attempt a “Charlie Crist”.
