Bob Worsley doesn’t need this job? Really, Senator Flake?

A while back, I got an election mailer promoting my state senator, Bob Worsley. It featured a statement by US Senator Jeff Flake as follows: “Bob Worsley doesn’t need this job, but Arizona needs Bob Worsley to have this job.” Now I’ve learned that when politicians who have proven themselves untrustworthy make declarations about themselves or their political friends, to strongly consider that the exact opposite may be true.

So, knowing that Worsley is one of these moderate big government Republicans, and a businessman, I decided to look for signs of crony capitalism. What do you know – he’s been into green, renewable energy, the ultimate playground for crony capitalists. And, looking into this, he appears to be trying to leverage his influence in state government to further his business. (Check out this article from Gilbertwatch about Worsley’s biomass plant and his interest in wind energy.)

I see the intensity of the efforts of all these establishment Republicans rallying to support Worsley (Governor Brewer, Mitt Romney, Senator Flake, et al) and it’s very suspicious. I don’t understand what all is going on here, but there is something under the surface about Worsley and his connections that smells.

(Also see my other post giving full information about Bob Worsley’s business dealings and how he is trying to hide them from the public.)
